“Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things”  Colossians 3:1-4

To live a life of purpose and meaning, we must shift our focus away from the material world and onto the spiritual. With this in mind, Colossians 3:1-4 instructs us to “set our minds on things above, not earthly things.” This is a powerful reminder that, although we are often tempted to live life for the here and now, we should look to our spiritual realm for true fulfillment. By understanding the importance of focusing on the “things above,” we can discover a new sense of purpose and joy in our lives. We can also learn to appreciate the value of things beyond our physical reach. Through this, we can uncover a deeper understanding of our faith and relationship with God.

Have you ever asked yourself why Jesus had to rise from the dead?

Have you ever asked yourself why Jesus had to rise from the dead? The answer is surprisingly simple and profound. Jesus had to rise from the dead, and because he did, we have been given the power to rise in his resurrection too! This power is the same power that Jesus himself had when he rose from the dead, and it is a power that we can use to rise from our own struggles and circumstances.

The Bible gives us some insight into this power in Colossians 3:1-4. In this passage, we are told to “seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. You have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God”. This passage tells us that Christ’s power to rise is not just a one-time event but a power we can use to overcome our struggles and circumstances.

When Jesus rose from the dead, he did so with a power available to us. This power is not something that we can earn, but it is a power that is given to us freely. It is a power we can utilize to overcome our struggles and circumstances, no matter how difficult they may seem. Jesus’ resurrection is a power we can use to live a life of victory, no matter our circumstances.

In conclusion, Jesus had to rise from the dead, and because he did, we have been given the power to rise too. This power is not something that we can earn, but it is a power that is given to us freely. Jesus’ resurrection is a power we can use to live a life of victory, no matter our circumstances. This is why Jesus had to rise from the dead, and we can have hope amid our own struggles and circumstances.

When we feast on the treasures of the heavenly realm, our minds become filled with beautiful realities.

We are all familiar with the phrase, “you are what you eat.” This applies to our spiritual lives as well. If we want to become like Christ, we must feast on the treasures of the heavenly realm. Colossians 3:1-4 gives us a glimpse of these treasures: “Christ’s resurrection is your resurrection too. This is why we are to yearn for all above, for that’s where Christ sits, enthroned at the place of all power, honor, and authority! Yes, feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, not with the natural realm’s distractions. Your crucifixion with Christ has severed the tie to this life, and now your true life is hidden away in God in Christ. And as Christ himself is seen for who he really is, you will also be revealed, for you are now one with him in his glory!”

When we feast on the treasures of the heavenly realm, our minds become filled with beautiful and incredible realities. We are reminded of the heavenly, eternal things that await us, such as the joys of eternity spent with God, the peace of being with Him forever, and the anticipation of entering a new and perfect world. Instead of worrying about this world’s problems, we can focus on what will come. As we feast on the treasures of heaven, we are reminded that a much greater reality awaits us and that we can trust in God to lead us through the struggles of this life.

We can learn a lot about the heavenly treasures by reflecting on the life of Jesus. He lived His life with a relentless focus on the things of God, and He constantly sought to draw others to Him. We can learn from His example and strive to do the same. When we feast on the treasures of the heavenly realm, we become more aware of the gospel message’s beauty and power and are inspired to share it with others. We can also use the heavenly treasures to help us to deepen our relationship with God, learn more about His character, and gain insight into His will for our lives.

When we feast on the treasures of the heavenly realm, our minds become filled with beautiful realities, helping us focus on things to come and not on things of this world. This is a reminder that our hope and joy are found in eternity. It can help us remain faithful to God’s will despite life’s difficulties.

We are to yearn for all that is above,

It is with great joy that we can look to the heavens and realize that Jesus, our Lord, and Savior, is enthroned there in all power, honor, and authority. This assurance is given to us in Colossians 3:1-4, which reads, “Christ’s resurrection is your resurrection too.

The passage is clear – we are to seek the above things, where Christ is enthroned in all power, honor, and authority. Our minds are to be set on things above and not on the things of this world, for our lives have been hidden with Christ in God. This is our assurance that when we appear before the Lord, we will be dressed in the glory of His righteousness.

We can have such joy in knowing that our Lord and Savior is seated at the right hand of God, reigning with all power, honor, and authority. We can place our trust in Him, knowing that He is sovereign over all things and has all power to work in and through us as we seek to glorify His name.

We can also be assured that even during the struggles and trials of this world, our Lord is ruling with authority. He is in control, and His will will be done in our lives and in this world. We do not need to worry or fret, for Jesus is enthroned in all power, honor, and authority. We can take comfort in knowing that He is in charge and that all things are in His hands.

Let us take hope and courage as we look to the heavens and remember that Jesus is enthroned there in all power, honor, and authority. Let us also remember to seek the above things, for it is there that we will find true joy and peace.

Christ’s resurrection is our resurrection too.

If one thing sets Christianity apart from every other religion and belief system, it is the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The resurrection of Jesus is the foundation of the Christian faith, and its implications are far-reaching. The power and hope allow believers to live a life that points towards eternity.

The resurrection of Christ is not only an act of salvation and redemption, but it is also a promise of our own resurrection. Colossians 3:1-4 states, “Christ’s resurrection is your resurrection too.

This passage of Scripture reminds us that since we were raised with Christ, our lives should be focused on eternity and the things of heaven. We have been given the promise of resurrection; therefore, we can live a life that points toward eternity. We are no longer slaves to sin and death but rather free to live a life of joy and purpose.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is our resurrection too. We are raised to a new life in Christ, which gives us hope and joy amid trials and suffering. We can look forward to the day when we will be fully resurrected and be with the Lord in heaven for eternity. This is the power and hopes that Christ’s resurrection gives us and the driving force of our lives as Christians.

Our lives can be a living testimony of Christ’s power,

Our lives can be a living testimony of Christ’s power and glory if we focus our minds on the above things. Colossians 3:1-4, it says, “Christ’s resurrection is your resurrection too. And as Christ himself is seen for who he really is, you will also be revealed, for you are now one with him in his glory!” It is so clear here that the things of heaven are closer than we realize, and they are within our reach if we choose to claim them.

So, how do we claim these heavenly realities? It is simple, and we must focus on the above things. We must meditate daily on God’s Word and think about pure, noble, right, and lovely things. This doesn’t mean that we have to ignore our earthly lives, but it does mean that we should strive to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and His promises for us. As we do this, our lives will become a testimony of His power, and we will be able to live a life of joy, peace, and purpose rooted in His Word.

Our lives have the power to be a living testimony of the power and glory of God, but it is up to us to make the choice to focus our minds on the things above. Let us take a moment to reflect on Colossians 3:1-4 and to reach out and claim the promises of our Heavenly Father. As we do this, our lives can be a living testimony of Christ’s power – so let us reach out and claim the heavenly realities within our reach.

Conclusion

We are all familiar with the saying, “you are what you eat.” This is no less true for our spiritual lives. If we want to become like Christ, we must feast on the treasures of heaven. The treasures of heaven are simply the heavenly things, including the presence of the Lord, His truth, His love, His grace, and His righteousness.

When we feast on the things of heaven, our minds begin to look like the mind of Christ, who is constantly focused on what is above (the things of God). This is a reminder that we are to yearn for all that is above, and it can help us remain faithful to God’s will even amid life’s difficulties.

Knowing and seeing these treasures is possible, but it takes a deliberate choice. The first step is to recognize that heaven is where we should be. Next, we need to choose to set our minds on these things. Finally, we must decide to feast on the treasures of heaven. When we do, we will find ourselves more and more often gazing into the faceplate of heaven. And when we do, we will see its beauty more clearly.

In the end, when we feast on the treasures of heaven, our minds become filled with beautiful realities, helping us to focus our thoughts on things to come and not on things of this world. This reminds us that our hope and joy are found in God’s things, not in this world’s things. So, let us feast on the things of heaven and be filled with heavenly joy
